Fasttech Mini Rebuildable RDA Review

So a while back I tacked one of these mini RDAs from Fasttech on to one of my orders just for shits. I’m not super crazy for the way they look, but I thought it couldn’t hurt to give one a try anyway.

They are super cheap-  you can pick one up for $4.77, or get a multi pack if for some reason you wanted to do that. They come in a variety of colors and are made from anodized aluminum. Here are the specs from FT:

  • Rebuildable dripping atomizer
  • Single heating wire resistance: 2.4ohm
  • Aluminum tube with stainless steel drip tip
  • 510 threading fits to any 510 / EGO battery

So my first impression of this is that it looks kind of stupid. I mean for the most part, you aren’t going to find a lot of mods made out of anodized aluminum, since most are made from stainless steel, brass or chrome. Additionally, there aren’t a lot of mods that this will fit on and not look stupid. I mean it doesn’t even look great on my Precise Plus, and that has a relatively slim diameter, so there’s no way it’s going to look good on a bigger mod or god forbid a VV like the SVD or Vamo.

The second problem is that because of its small size, it is kind of tricky to coil. Not terribly difficult, but a lot more work than it would be to coil up a more standard sized RDA like a Nimbus or IGO-L.

Once you do get it coiled up, it actually does hit really well. Here’s a vid of me blowing a cloud of Indigo RY on this little guy:

Not bad for a shitty little thing, eh? This is a 1.1 ohm micro coil on my Precise Plus.

So without further ado, let’s get to the pros and cons:

Small. In some cases, I guess this could be a pro. I mean why else would you even want this other than the fact that it is really small. On the right mod, you could have yourself a pretty nice stealth vape.

Works. Like any other RDA, it’s only as good as your wick and coil, but shit  – once you get this thing rigged up you will see that it really does work pretty well.

Appearance. If this thing were stainless, I think it would be a lot cooler. The fact that it is shitty, colored aluminum is going to make it pretty hard to pair with a mod and have it look halfway decent.

Small. It’s a pro and a con. The small size means that it’s going to be a little more work to get this thing coiled, and you have less room for wick.

Who is it Good For?

Really, this isn’t a great beginner RDA. You should get a Nimbus or IGO-L before trying one of these. It’s cool to tack one on to your FT order because they are only $4, or if you need a really small atty for some reason, it definitely is small. Other than that, it’s mostly just a novelty.

Do I Use It?

Nope. it’s been sitting in my box for months and I finally decided to pull it out to give it a proper review. I am saving it for the off chance that a small, shitty aluminum, fake gold colored mod comes out that this will be a perfect fit on. LOL.

Where Can I Get One?

The Bottom Line

It is what it is with this one. It’s a small, weird looking little RDA. Performance wise, it actually works really well once you get it rigged up. That’s about the only positive I can think of with it. This one is cool for tacking on to a Fasttech order just for shits. You probably won’t end up using it much – I don’t. I hope someday there actually is a mod that this thing would be suitable for – that is pretty much the biggest problem I have with it. There is just no mod that it would make sense to legitimately use this on. It’s a cool little guy and it can spit out a lot of vapor but you are probably better off spending your money on an IGO-L or Nimbus clone if you don’t already have one.
