Weekly Juice Battle 6

review-box

This week’s juice battle features all 6 juices I reviewed last week going head to head to determine the best of the best. Probably the most notable thing about this particular battle was none of the juices were flat out awful. This is probably the best bunch of juices I have had yet for a battle – there were really no clear losers, so this one promises to be interesting…

#6 Halo: Sub Zero

halo-sub-zero

Coming in dead last this week is Sub Zero by Halo. Here’s what they say about it:

SubZero E-liquid offers an intensely fresh experience, packed with triple the menthol effect of our standard menthol e-liquid flavors. Designed for those seeking a more concentrated menthol effect, this premium e-liquid blend offers a subtly sweet mixed mint aftertaste.

It really wasn’t particularly easy for me to condemn this juice to last place in this week’s battle. Although I really didn’t care for the taste, it isn’t a bad juice. In fact, it is a very good quality juice.

Basically, this is the ultimate menthol vape. If you think you have vaped good menthol before and haven’t tried this one, you need to try it right away. There is enough menthol in this vape to make your throat feel frosty a good hour after vaping it.

Taste wise, it doesn’t have much. Unless you love the taste of menthol, because that’s literally the only thing you can taste. That’s pretty much why I didn’t care for it. It kind of reminded me of how I feel after a good strong dose of mouthwash.

I didn’t find it pleasurable to vape at all from a taste standpoint, and that’s why it ended up in last place this week. I don’t think I could vape this juice with any regularity.

That said, it does have its place. It is an amazingly powerful menthol vape, and I have no doubt there are people out there looking for just that. So if you are a menthol junkie, you would probably rate this juice a lot higher than I did.

#5 Yaeliq – Double RY 4

yaeliq-double-ry4

Coming in at #5 this week is Yaeliq’s Double RY 4. Here’s what he says about it:

Double RY4 – Double the fun-Loving It

I was heavily debating putting this juice behind Sub Zero this week, however taste-wise it does have some merit.

The more I vaped this juice, the more I found it to be quite similar to Tribeca from Halo.  Now I am not the biggest fan in the world of Tribeca. I think the taste is too heavy and too synthetic to really be a good tobacco vape, but I know a lot of people out there love this flavor, including some of my friends, and Yaeliq’s Double RY 4 is shockingly similar.

Why is that good? Because you can get 100ml of it for $18. That is shockingly cheaper than what you would pay for a 30ml bottle of Tribeca from Halo.

So for those of you out there spending a ton of money on Tribeca, you should definitely give this one a try because it could end up saving you a ton of money.

Flavor wise, if you’re not familiar with Tribeca, I think it tastes similar to other synthetic tobacco flavors, with a strong Scotch Tape flavor. This particular juice hits pretty well, and vapor was just average for me.

Overall it’s not a great juice, but if you can use it as a Tribeca substitute it’s got some value.

#4 Eliquid Market – Cherry

eliquid-market-cherry

Rounding out the bottom half of this week’s battle is Cherry from Eliquid Market. Here’s what they say about it:

Smooth Cherry taste. (Great to mix with our Cheesecake Dekang e liquid) This Dekang e liquid is not overpowering. It is a mild cherry taste that can give a little cherry kick to any of our other e liquids.

This is a testament to how good this week’s juice battle was. Cherry was actually a very good juice, and I could easily see it being rated higher in a different week, but the other 3 were slightly better, and frankly, a little more dynamic.

Cherry is, well… Cherry. It’s a nice candy-like cherry flavor. For an 80/20 PG/VG blend at 12mg, it hits astonishingly well and produces an admirable amount of vapor.

There’s nothing super special about this juice, but it is a good, solid cherry flavor. No cough-medicine like quality to it, and it vapes very nicely. Best of all, it is extremely affordable – around $10 for a 50ml bottle.

I really liked this juice a lot, and I intend to try mixing it with other juices as they suggest in the description. For a cheap, good quality juice, you really can’t go wrong.

#3 ECBlends Chocolate Mint Coconut Crunch

chocolate-mint-coconut-crunch

Coming in at #3 this week was Chocolate Mint Coconut Crunch from ECBlends. Here’s what they say about it:

Chocolate Mint Coconut Crunch

A delicious recipe where Chocolate, Mint, Coconut and Crunch come together. You can almost hear the crunch!

ECBlend Mixologist Natasha created this yummy recipe.

This was a really good juice for me. In fact, I had a hard time placing it at #3 in the list because it is really good quality, and one of the better menthol flavors I have ever tried.

I really liked the uniqueness of this juice. Putting chocolate, mint and coconut together is not something I probably would have thought to do, but the flavors meld wonderfully. The coconut is more subdued, which I normally don’t like in a coconut vape, but it really seemed to work well in this one. It also has a pronounced nuttiness at the end which really rounds out the vape quite nicely.

I have had problems with throat hit on other juices from ECBlends, but I have had juices from there that hit quite well too. This juice hit perfectly solid for me. No complaints at all.

If you’re looking for something a little more interesting than your run of the mill mint/chocolate combo, definitely give this one a try.

#2 Azure Vaping: Green Tea Citrus

green-tea-citrus

Our runner up this week was Green Tea Citrus by Azure Vaping. This was a blast from my vaping past – as you can see from the picture above, I bought this bottle way back in February of 2012 when Azure Vaping was still Blue Mist Vaping.

Luckily, despite being almost 2 years old, this juice didn’t skip a beat.

For an 80/20 PG/VG blend at 16mg, it hits amazingly well. Very solid vapor production and a perfect throat hit.

The flavor is really more delicate. It is light and crisp. I get a lot of floral notes from it, but not super heavy. I didn’t really feel a strong citrus presence, and the green tea was there, but it takes a backseat to the floral overtones. So it wasn’t exactly true to description in that sense, but I actually do get a very nice green tea vibe from it.

I am big fan of tea flavored vapes, and this is probably one of the top green tea vapes I have tried so far. I like it so much that I am probably going to order a 120ml bottle of it. That brings me to my next point – this is a super affordable juice. You can pick up a 120ml premixed bottle for just $16. That’s about as good a deal as you’ll get anywhere.

Buy this one with confidence, it is really good.

#1 Mountan Oak Vapors – Vanilla Dream

vanilla-dream

This weeks winner, and by a wide margin, is Vanilla Dream by Mountain Oak Vapors.  Here’s what they say about it:

The right blending of smooth, sweet, and creamy Vanilla are what make our Vanilla Dream E-Liquid one of the best sellers. This High VG e-juice is so smooth and full-bodied that you’ll be wishing you had ordered two bottles!

I have been vaping this one non-stop all week. I haven’t been able to put it down. This is by far the best vanilla flavored vape I have ever tried. It is just not even close – and I have tried a LOT of vanilla flavored vapes.

To me, I get pure, quality vanilla extract. Not the shitty kind, but the really nice quality vanilla extract. Nothing more, nothing less.

The flavor is absolutely spot on. Due to the amazing quality, it actually has a lot of depth to the flavor. It’s actually pretty incredible just how much depth they are able to produce out of a simple and commonly used flavor as vanilla – and it really puts into perspective how shitty some other vanilla juices are in comparison to this one.

Not only does it taste amazing and completely live up to its description, it hits beautifully. At 18mg, the throat hit on this juice is absolutely spot on. It produces so much vapor that I was a little embarrassed to be puffing on it in my friend’s apartment because it only took a few drags to fog out the whole place.

I started off vaping this in my dripper, and I felt that the inhale had kind of an alcohol overtone to it, but not in a super bad way – just a slight one. I switched this to my 804 dream tank (kayfun style) at 1.7 ohm and have been vaping it in my VTR all week at about 4.5 volts, 15 watts. It hits like an absolute fucking dream. Complete spot-on flavor, and perfect hits every single time until the tank is empty.

So while I liked it in a dripper, I absolutely loved it in a tank.

You can not possibly go wrong with this juice. It is so delicious that you will almost surely be going back for it again and again. Do yourself a favor and get a 30ml bottle because you are going to want every last drop of it.

The Bottom Line

This week’s battle really went a lot better than expected. There were really no “bad” juices in the whole bunch. Yaeliq and Halo’s Sub Zero wound up at the bottom, however they are both really solid niche juices for the right people.

Any of the other 4 juices could have easily taken first or second place on a different week, and all of them I feel have pretty broad appeal. Additionally Cherry and Green Tea Citrus are both extremely affordable. I always feel good finding great juices that don’t cost an arm and a leg.

This week I have a bunch more juices lined up for next week’s battle so it should be a good one.

Stay tuned…
