No Juice Battle this week… State of the Site Update

I just thought I would let everyone know what’s going on here at Vapecore.

The new year has come, and I figured it was a good time to take a look at where we’re at and where we’re going.

I started this site last year, and didn’t get it fully launched until around September.

In that time, I’ve written 198 posts – consisting of juice reviews, hardware reviews, juice battles, tutorials and deals. We’ve also been able to get a ton of traffic and buzz surrounding the site, and we get MANY new visitors every single day.

I have been humbled by the rapid success and all the support I have received so far, and it has made me even more motivated to keep going and make the site an even better vaping resource for the community.

As a result, I have been brainstorming and working on implementing some changes to enhance the overall user experience and make the site a little more fun.

Juice Reviews

First off, for juice reviews, I am changing up how I am going to do things.

I’m not going to be using vapor production as a review criteria by itself anymore. Instead I am changing it to quality of vape.

Vapor production can be an important criteria, however the biggest indicator of vapor production is the PG/VG level of the juice, and the second biggest is the setup you are using. So that makes it often a very irrelevant criteria by itself.

Quality of vape is something that comes up with almost every juice – basically how “full” does the flavor feel? How well balanced are the throat hit and vapor production? How well do all the pieces fit together?  I believe adding this criteria and removing Vapor will help make juice reviews more meaningful.

I am also going to work on making the juices more searchable and filterable so people can weed through them all in a much faster and more coherent fashion.

Juice Battles

Juice battles have been really fun for me to do and have gotten an amazing amount of readership. They aren’t going anywhere. In fact, I am going to be trying my hardest to make them even better.

First of all, I fully plan to do more themed battles. At least 1 per month, hopefully two.

Second off, I am changing the way I evaluate juices. The OLD way was, I would randomly select a juice from my “review box” taste it, and write a review as soon as I could. I would aim to get between 8-12 done per week.

This was good, except I feel that I haven’t necessarily been spending enough time evaluating each juice.

So the new way I am going to be reviewing juices is the following:

At the beginning of the week, I will pre-select around 10 juices to review for the week, set each one up with its own individual atomizer, and vape all 10 of them throughout the week. Then I will begin writing the reviews as soon as I feel comfortable enough with a given juice to write a full review on it.

This will help me do a much better job of thoroughly testing each juice, and also making sure I get them all done in a timely fashion each week.

I think overall the hardware reviews are OK as they are now. My main focus is going to be getting more of them published, and faster. I have seriously like 60 things on my list right now that need reviewing and I have more stuff coming in every day. I fully intend to push forward more aggressively with this and publish a LOT more hardware reviews.

Additionally, at least once a month I am going to be publishing a featured pairing of a mod/atomizer and focusing on doing multiple how-to’s for that specific pairing every month.

I didn’t get nearly as many tutorials published last year as I would have liked. I am going to try my very hardest to do at least 1 tutorial with every single atomizer I review.

Additionally, I plan on heavily expanding on tutorials for beginners as well, which will be boring for some of you, but hopefully will help out a lot of newbs.

Deals and News

I’m really hoping to ramp up both deals and general news this year. I have tried my best to stay on top of deals, but I can do better.

The Bottom Line

Last year was an awesome year vaping for me, and I am so excited for the rapid success I have achieved with Vape Core so far.

This week, I am going to be evaluating my first batch of juices including the 2 I reviewed already last week – so there will for sure be a juice battle next week at the regularly scheduled time.

In addition, I am going to be making a lot of positive improvements to the site throughout the week.

I really want to hear from you – if you have any suggestions in terms of what you would like to see in the future on Vape Core, please leave a comment below.

I want to know what kind of juices you want to see reviewed. What kind of themed juice battles should I do? What kind of hardware reviews are you most interested in? What can I do to make the site easier to use?

Let me know and I will do my best to make it happen!

I want to give a big thank you to everyone who has taken time out of their busy lives to stop and read an article or two on the site. I really appreciate all the support!
