Weekly Juice Battle 15

Time again for another juice battle. I was able to get through 8 juices last week, and they will all go head today to determine the best of the lot. I had a couple from new companies, a couple really original flavors and a couple that weren’t so hot. Overall it was a very interesting week and I was happy with this pool of juices.

On with the battle!

#8 The Vapor Chef: Shmuffer Shmutter

Coming in dead last this week was Shmuffer Shmutter by the Vapor Chef. Here’s what he says about it:

Peanut butter, bananas and toasted marshmallows.  Enough said.

This was my first juice ever from TVC, and I was super excited to try it. I primarily grabbed this one first because it was a 24mg and I was looking for something with a kick. While it did have a plenty strong throat hit, the flavor of this one was just not good for me at all.

I felt that the banana flavor overpowered the rest of the flavors to the point where they could hardly be tasted at all. Basically that leaves me with a very strong artificial banana flavored vape. Strong to the point of almost having an alcohol vibe to it, and not in a good way. It kind of leads to a perfumy blast on the exhale that I found so overbearing that I couldn’t enjoy this one at all.

While I love the idea on paper of peanut butter, banana and marshmallow, this one fell wildly short of the mark. Way too heavy on the banana and hardly any mallow or PB to be found at all. I would pretty much categorize this one as unvapable, thus the reason for the last place finish this week.

#7 Seduce Juice: Snickerdoodledoo

Coming in at #7 in this week’s countdown is Snickerdoodledoo from Seduce Juice. Here’s what they say about it:

Snickerdoodledoo is a perfect cinnamon sugar cookie flavor, tastes like it just came out of the oven.

I’ve been really blessed lately to have had the opportunity to try some amazingly good cookie vapes, so I was naturally super excited to try this one out. As soon as I smelled it in the bottle, it immediately reminded me of Nicoticket’s Grandma’s Cinnamon Danish, which I famously did not like at all.

After tasting it, I can confirm that it also tastes VERY similar. In fact I could hardly even pick out any difference at all. Basically, it’s got kind of a dry, warm base that primarily consists of a somewhat unnatural and very overbearing buttery flavor. There’s a hint of cinnamon that you can tell is there if you vape it for a while, but it’s very subtle. The butter is nauseatingly strong and overpowers the entire flavor of the vape.

I didn’t think this tasted remotely like a cookie at all. The only predominant flavor is butter, and I didn’t think there was nearly enough cinnamon.

All that said, it vaped pretty good at 12mg, and it’s not quite “unvapable” like #8 this week, but it is very close to being unvapable.

#6 Gremlin Juice: Samoan Dreams

#6 this week is another cookie vape: Samoan Dreams by Gremlin Juice. Here’s what they say about it:

It may have been started by Elves and little girls, but the Gremlins are making their own take on a Chocolate Fudge Cookie, drizzled with Caramel, and sprinkled with coconut flakes.

This is a flavor that is right up my alley. I love anything with coconut and I particularly like those Girl Scout Cookies – Samoas, for which this juice is modeled after.

To compound it even more, this juice smells absolutely heavenly in the bottle. It smells exactly like the real thing!

Unfortunately for me, this one does not taste as good as it smells. I would say it has maybe about 30% of the actual flavor it should have when you vape it. Now luckily the 30% is a GOOD 30% and it is still a really tasty juice, but it clearly doesn’t live up to the hype. You can taste the caramel, chocolate and coconut, but all 3 are really muted on both the exhale and inhale. The flavor is at its best when you are smelling it in the bottle, the aftertaste it leaves in your mouth, and the incredible scent the clouds leave in the air.

If they could make this juice taste fully as good as it smells, it would probably be my favorite juice ever.

The other big issue I had with it was that it didn’t hit well at all at 12 mg. I have several other 12mg juices in this week’s battle, and this was the only one where I found the throat hit to be so poor that it’s basically unvapable for me.

I think this juice has some potential. Even though it’s not perfect, it is on the right track. I like it so much that I would probably order it again, and if I did I would get it in higher nic, higher PG, and I think it could work pretty well.

#5 Indigo Vapor: Kick Back

Rounding out the bottom half of the countdown this week at #5 is Kick Back from Indigo Vapor. Here’s what they say about it:

Just like the name suggests… Kick back, relax, and enjoy this rich, and robust tobacco with a nice smokey touch to it.

Despite its 5th place showing, this is a really good juice. It actually speaks more to how GOOD the juices ahead of this one are, rather than this one being poor quality or anything like that.

This is a great, high quality tobacco. I think it tastes almost identical to Legend (Gandalf) from Heather’s Heavenly Vapes.  It’s a rich tobacco flavor that’s got sweet and sour notes and a medium bodied tobacco base that carries through both the inhale and exhale. Interestingly, this one also has a very nice menthol finish. It is super subtle, but it is definitely there.

There is really nothing wrong with this juice in any way. I think it would have massively broad appeal to a wide range of vapers. For me personally, I think the richness of it kind of burned me out a little bit.  While I do like Legend a lot and I’ve vaped a LOT of it, it hasn’t been my fav for a very long time, and this juice is almost identical to Legend, so for me, I think it’s just a flavor that is easy to get burned out on due to the crazy richness of it.

Overall, this is a great representation of the types of tobacco vapes they offer at Indigo, and anyone interested in good tobaccos should at least give this one a try.

#4 Five Pawns: Queenside

Coming in at #4 this week is Queenside from Five Pawns. Here’s what they say about it:

Delicate blood orange with creamy French vanilla.  Light yet creamy citrus with a medium bodied throat hit.

I’ve been intrigued by Five Pawns, with their Top Shelf approach, and have been really eager to try their stuff for a while now. The first victim was Queenside.

Now if my reviews and this Juice battle were judged on taste alone, Queenside would have either been 1st or 2nd place this week. The flavor is really amazing. It probably has one of the most silky smooth and delicious vanilla bases I have ever tried, and it has an absolutely perfect orange kick on the exhale. That’s really all their is to it – so it is a relatively simple flavor, but it is executed so well that I can’t imagine anyone not liking the taste of this one.

That said, I found the throat hit lacking at 12mg. To be fair, they do describe it as having only a medium bodied throat hit, so it wasn’t anything I wasn’t expecting. I believe I would probably have to get this one at 24mg if I were to order it again to be able to get a solid throat hit out of it.

Additionally, you have to factor in the price – at nearly $30 for a 30ml, it is quite expensive by my standards. A juice would have to be beyond exceptional for me to consider it being worth $1 per ml or more. While this one tastes amazing, there is really nothing about it that would make me want to shell out that kind of money for it.

All around, this is a very good juice that I can’t imagine anyone not liking. This is really not something I would buy with any kind of regularity, but it’s a great way to treat yourself every once in a while.

#3 Aero Juice: Crimson

Coming in 3rd place this week is Crimson by Aero Juice. Here’s what they say about it:

Exotic and rare, with touches of vanilla spice, ginger, and Asian flare.

I thought I had completed all the bottles of Aero I had, when I uncovered this little guy at the bottom of my review box. Boy, was this ever a nice way to finish out the lot.

Crimson is a completely unique vape. It’s got a bit of sweetness, a bit of richness, a bit of fruityness and a bit of spice. They all come together to make an incredibly complex, delicious and complete vape.

The Ginger plays center stage. I didn’t really find it had much of a true vanilla taste as they described, but it did have a mellow, rich undertone that gave me kind of a vanilla impression. It also had a very faint fruity finish, which was a nice counter to the stark flavor of the spice.

There are so many things going on in this vape that you can get a completely different flavor profile with each puff.

At 12mg, it hit really well and produced a good amount of vapor. The vape was full and didn’t leave me feeling like anything was missing.

Overall, this was an exceptional juice and I wish I had a bigger bottle!

#2 Vapor Crusader: Orange Sin

Second place this week was Vapor Crusader’s Orange Sin. Here’s what they say about it:

A zesty orange peel, rolled in spices, and dipped in rich chocolate.

This was my first juice ever from Vapor Crusader and I was extremely impressed with it. The flavors were very crisp and came through nicely, and the juice just vaped very well all around.

The orange was super vibrant and reminded me of a pretty close representation of Orange Fanta. It has a slight chocolate undertone on the inhale and a smooth chocolate finish. I didn’t really feel like there was a ton of other spice going on there, but the orange and chocolate came through so well that it didn’t matter.

Out of all the juices I evaluated this week, this was the one I went back to the most, besides this week’s winner. I vaped it for about 3 straight days as soon as I took out the bottle.

Eventually, it did start to wear on me a little bit – I think the chocolate elevates the richness of this vape just enough so that it can wear on you after a while.  So while I don’t necessarily think it would be ideal for an all day vape, it is an amazingly good juice to have in your arsenal as a crisp and refreshing change of pace.

I really liked this one a lot, and I can highly recommend it.

#1 Shark Juice: Kowrona

This week’s winner (and it wasn’t close) is Kowrona from Shark Juice. This is a Corona (beer) flavored vape with lemon and lime.

Man. Words cannot describe how impressed I am with this vape. I picked it up last Monday and have not been able to put it down. In fact, I have vaped through almost my entire bottle of it.

I was out all day yesterday and the only juice I needed to bring with me was Kowrona. Didn’t even think twice about grabbing any other juice for backup.

What can I say? It tastes exactly as the name would indicate. A refreshing Corona with a splash of lemon and lime. It really does taste perfectly like a real live beer and you can even pick out both the lemon and the lime individually. I have had other people taste this and they all agreed that this juice is exactly as advertised.

I bought this one at first almost for the novelty value – I mean you don’t naturally think of beer being a great flavor to vape. But wow, it vapes so well it is just amazing. It’s crisp, refreshing, the flavor is perfectly full and not too heavy and it hits like an actual bastard at 24mg.

Overall, I couldn’t find a single flaw with this juice. It’s totally original, it is totally true to description, and perfect throat hit and quality of vape. This is now one of my absolute favorite juices I have ever tried, and I am going to be sure to order more to have for this summer. This is a perfect vape for chilling outside, camping, etc. Pretty much any situation where a nice cold one would be nice, you can bet this vape would hit the spot too.

I can’t recommend this one enough. It is one of my all time favorites.

The Bottom Line

This was a fun group to evaluate. Most of these juices were pretty good with the exception of the bottom 2. I was particularly intrigued by the creativity of Kowrona and Crimson, and could easily see myself vaping both for a long time to come. Orange Sin is a great all around vape if you are in the mood for a great orange flavor. I finally got to try Five Pawns, and while I don’t know if it lives up to the incredibly high sticker price, the flavor was there.

I have a ridiculous amount of more new stuff to start plugging through for next week’s battle, so stay tuned!
