Weekly Juice Battle 14

Time again for another juice battle! This week I have 8 juices that I spent the last week evaluating and will all go head to head today. This was a particularly interesting week because really none of the juices I selected were bad at all. In fact it has been probably the most difficult week yet in selecting winners and losers because all the juices were pretty damn good.

Without further ado, on with the battle!

#8 Ejuice Monkeys: Blueberry Cheesecake

Coming in at #10 this week is Blueberry Cheesecake by eJuice Monkeys. Here’s what they say about it:

Come on, you know you want a bite…uhhh…I mean vape. Sweet, tasty blueberries generously folded into rich, creamy cheesecake. Life doesn’t get much better, unless you unless you try our Strawberry or Cherry Cheesecake too.

It wasn’t easy for me to put Blueberry Cheesecake in last place this week because really, it isn’t a bad juice at all and I quite enjoyed vaping it. Unfortunately, this is a juice battle and there have to be winners and losers regardless.

The biggest issue I had with this vape is that it didn’t have a hugely strong cheesecake presence.  While the flavor of the blueberry came through nicely, the only true essence of cheesecake was in the rich undertones in the juice. However, while rich, it really didn’t taste like actual cheesecake to me. If you would have told me this was supposed to be blueberries and cream, I would have believed you just as easily.

There is also a bit of a dry, synthetic taste on the back end of the vape. It’s not really bad to the point where it would make me not want to vape the juice, but its presence there does hint that maybe the quality isn’t quite to the same level as some other competitors this week. The flavor clarity just wasn’t quite up to the level it should have been.

Overall, this is actually a pretty decent juice. If you are already placing an order with eJuice Monkeys and this one sounds good to you, it wouldn’t be bad to give it a shot in a sample size, but it’s really nothing super special.

#7 Shark Juice: Apple Brandy

Coming in at #7 this week is Apple Brandy by Shark Juice. Here’s what they say about it:

This delicious apple flavor is the perfect carrier for the smooth taste of a good brandy. This incredible flavor will not only impress your taste buds but also has an amazing aroma on the exhale. Simply put this flavor is perfect.

This was another juice that was tough for me to place so low in this week’s countdown. I have actually been vaping it quite a bit, and I really do like it.

The biggest issue for me on this one was simply the lack of a strong brandy presence. The apple is really vibrant and comes through as what you would probably expect a really crisp sour apple flavor to taste like. It’s got a nice presence on both the inhale and exhale.

I really just did not get any traces of brandy at all in this one. As an apple vape it is great. As an apple brandy vape, it really comes across as lacking brandy.

It vapes very well – super thick vapor and powerful throat hit at 24mg. I thought the flavor was maybe a little on the weak side, and slightly dry, but overall the all around vape was satisfactory.

While it wasn’t quite to the level of some of the other juices I vaped for this battle, it is a really nice juice and I would definitely recommend checking it out – particularly while they are still offering their promotional pricing of $1.99 for a 10ml bottle.

#6 Good Life Vapor: Magic Fairy

Coming in at #6 this week is Magic Fairy from Good Life Vapor. Here’s what they say about it:

The best absinthe juice you will ever vape. Period! It’s absinthe with a twist! Crafted after the other well known green juice. Similar but totally different. This juice gets better with age. If you can let it steep, you will not be disappointed. It’s good out of the mailbox, but the beauty comes out after a week or so of steep time.

I thought Magic Fairy was really a pretty good juice. I am not the biggest absinthe fan in the world, but I have to say that they did an artful job of working in the absinthe in a way that is palatable for people who don’t necessarily care for it.

It has a very nice, mild absinthe flavor surrounded by what I think is a kind of candy essence. It kind of reminds me of the flavor of Sweet Tarts, and it has a little sparkle to it as well. There are actually lots of really nice notes in this juice, and I found the flavor to be quite complex.

While it did taste really good, I did think that the flavor was a little on the light side. I really did like this one, but I found myself gravitating towards other juices more this week that were more full and satisfying. This one came across as just a little too light for me.

All around, this is a really nice vape. They compare it to Pluid, and I personally think it tastes a LOT better than Pluid, so if you are in the Pluid camp, you might do yourself a favor and try this one out. It’s really pretty good.

#5 Vapor God: Mary Jane

Coming in at #5 this week and rounding out the bottom half of the countdown is a juice that needs no further description – Mary Jane, by Vapor God.

I have tried quite a few weed flavored ejuices now, and I am always equally curious before trying them, and usually the end results are pretty similar.

Basically, it doesn’t really taste like weed, but it actually does have a pretty pleasant taste.

So this one is very grassy tasting, a little bit floral, and has a nice sour funkiness to it. It kind of feels like it is trying to decide whether it wants to be more like a brick of schwag or a sticky bud of sour diesel. It’s somewhere in the middle. It does have that sour skunk kind of essence to it that a real bud would have, but it is kind of synthetic and just doesn’t quite get there. The grayness of it makes it take on more of a Downtown Julie Brown kind of personality.

It is also fairly dry and not really as full of a vape as I would normally like. It does vape pretty well, but it tends to leave me wanting more.

I personally like this kind of flavor – it is really a nice change of pace from the typical stuff I vape, so I appreciate it for that a lot more than the actual accuracy of the flavor.

I am starting to think that mixing this with say maybe strawberry or chocolate might be a better way to push the pot flavor to the background and increase the fullness of the vape – and it might actually end up being closer tasting to the real thing.

Either way, I personally like this one, but if you are buying it because you want an ejuice that you can trick your friends into thinking is actual pot, then this one is not going to work for you.

#4 ECBlends: Irish Cream

Starting out the top half of the countdown this week at #4 was Irish Cream by ECBlends. Here’s what they say about it:

The delightful flavor of Irish Cream is intermingled in a deliciously rich flavor experience.   Enjoy warm Irish magic in every creamy sip.

As an Irishman who has sipped many an Irish Whiskey in my 31 years, I was really excited to try this one. I think it’s a great idea for a vape juice, and ECBlends did a pretty nice job of putting it all together. I vaped this juice quite a bit last week. The main thing I found was that the flavor seemed to be different from hit to hit. At times I would get a lot of cream and no whiskey and a lot of times I would get so much whiskey that it almost made the juice taste a little rancid.

Overall, the good far outweighed the bad. I was able to pull a very nice cream flavor and a nice whiskey flavor from this juice, and I would say they did a pretty good job of accurately portraying the real thing.

ECblends is more of a cheaper option as far as Ejuice goes, and they do have some duds, but a lot of the juices I have tried from them so far have been surprisingly good. This is one of them. I thought it was a great representation of Irish Cream, and I really enjoyed vaping it. If this one sounds good to you, I would definitely recommend picking up a bottle to check out for yourself.

#3 Heather’s Heavenly Vapes: Huntsman

Coming in 3rd Place this week is Huntsman from Heather’s Heavenly Vapes. Here’s what they say about it:

Huntsman is another in our line of extracted tobaccos. A medium bodied tobacco with woody, earthy tones. Great tobacco flavor without being too heavy. This flavor is part of our Purity line. All flavor ingredients in our Purity line are propylene glycol (PG) free which is why we can offer this particular vape in your favorite PG/VG ratio including 100% organic VG if desired.

I’m no stranger to Huntsman at all. I have been vaping this juice for quite a long time, and it’s one of the few juices that I have ever bought multiple bottles of.

Huntsman is a NET and it packs a lot of flavor. I find this to be more of a medium bodied tobacco flavor. The actual tobacco notes are light, but it has kind of a sourness to it that is pretty strong and will stick with you for a while. It hits amazingly well at 24mg, and the vapor production is second to none.

Personally, I have gotten really burned out on this juice. The flavor is good, but it is very strong, and I don’t find Huntsman nearly as smooth as a lot of their other NETs which have a much more rich finish. It kind of has a little RY4 essence to it – the slight scotch tape flavor that many RY4s seem to have. It doesn’t bother me a ton because the flavor is a LOT more complex than your typical RY4, but I just don’t think it is as good as some of their other offerings.

Regardless of my personal feelings about it right now, this is almost a must try juice for anyone that is into high quality tobacco vapes. There is nothing out there quite like it, and it vapes amazingly well. It probably won’t become your all day vape, but it is a great change of pace and the flavor is sure to pique your interest.

It’s not my favorite, but definitely a very high quality juice and totally worth a try.

#2 Seduce Juice: Impearmint

Coming in a close second place this week is Impearmint by Seduce Juice. Here’s what they say about it:

Sometimes simple blends just work. Impearmint is simply put, pear and mint. Not menthol, but a creamy menthe. Balances great with the pear and provides a great throat hit at lower nic levels.

This was a really interesting one for me. I’ve had it sitting in my review box for quite a while and I was actually really not looking forward tot trying it because I knew it was a menthol flavor and as most people who read my blog regularly know, I’m not a huge menthol fan.

Boy was I ever surprised. This juice is LOADED with flavor, and it is very complex and interesting. The menthol kick made it hit great, even at 12mg – and considering that I was vaping a lot of high nic liquids this week, it speaks volumes that this one performed so good at 12. The vapor production was quite nice, and the flavor was super full and satisfying.

On the inhale, you get a blast of coolness from the cremy menthe combined with the sweet and soft taste of the pear. The exhale has a creamy, almost chocolatey finish and really rounds out the vape beautifully.

This is probably one of the best menthol vapes I have ever tried.  I highly recommend it for menthol fans, or people looking to maybe check a menthol vape out. If someone like me likes it this much, you might too.

#1 Alien Visions: Gorilla Juice

This week’s winner by a close margin was Gorilla Juice by Alien Visions. Here’s what they say about it:

All the wonderful flavor of Boba’s Bounty with a hint of Banana!

I didn’t realize right away that this was just supposed to be a banana version of Boba’s Bounty, but after tasting it I could tell right away that the Boba’s was there in full force, and this juice comes just as described.  The banana flavor is strong but not overpowering and not so strong that it mutes the essence of the Boba’s. You get all the great taste of Boba’s plus the banana.

Now personally, I like plain Boba’s better. It’s not really bad with the banana, but I don’t think it really needs it either. That said, Boba’s is so good that even with banana, this juice is miles ahead of a lot of other juices out there. In fact, I polished off my bottle of Boba’s last month and I had been really kind of jonesing for it, and Gorilla Juice was just the thing I needed to satisfy my fix.

I do think this one has some throat hit issues at 12mg. It hits pretty good, but not as good as I remember my Boba’s hitting at 12mg. Personally, I would get this in a higher nic level next time. That would probably correct the throat hit issue completely.

This is really a top notch juice. The flavor is nice and smooth, but it is still very full. The vapor production is fantastic, and the all around quality of the vape is spot on.

Even though I think it is worse than Boba’s, it’s still better than most other juices out there.  This one is definitely worth a try for just about anyone, although if it’s between this one  and Boba’s, I would go with the Boba’s.

The Bottom Line

Last week went really well. I found a LOT of juices I liked and there were no stinkers in the bunch. I am hoping that more battles will be like this going forward! I just got a ton of new juices in to review from a lot of new companies, so that should add a lot more diversity to coming battles.

Please let me know if you have any requests for future battles, or themes you would like to see for themed battles.

Vape on!
