Smokecignals: Margarita Review

Today I’ve got a vaper’s twist on a classic alcoholic beverage – the margarita, by Smokecignals. Here’s what they say about it:

Classic Mexican cocktail. Tequila, lime and a hint of orange make this vape refreshing and lip licking good!

First Impressions

I’ve got this one at 18mg in a 65/35 PG/VG ratio.

This juice is nearly clear in color and doesn’t have much of a scent to it in the bottle.

I was really excited to try this because I have found that I almost always enjoy lemon and lime flavors, and the thought of vaping a margarita sounded particularly satisfying.

Unfortunately, the flavor on this one is way off. It honestly tastes like pure celery. There’s no real citrus, no tequila and no salted rim. Just pure, straight up celery.

The throat hit and vapor were both quite good, but I can only take so much celery.

The Bottom Line

Taste. As I mentioned above, it literally tastes like celery, and it’s STRONG. Like taking a shot of celery seed or something. I keep taking more hits of it hoping that it will start to develop a little more, but I end up getting pure celery every single hit. I don’t exactly hate celery, but I generally try not to ever eat it raw except in a few special instances, and overall it’s really not my favorite. It’s definitely not something I ever felt I needed to vape.

True to Description. Unfortunately this one is way wide of the mark. If someone handed me this and had me vape it without telling me what it was, I would think it was some kind of practical joke. I don’t get any margarita elements at all from this one.

Throat Hit. I really like their 65/35 blends and they always seem to hit well. At 18mg, this one is spot on, and there’s no vapor sacrificed with the lower VG number.

Quality of Vape. It’s basically unvapable for me. I don’t like celery nearly enough to try to find a bright spot here. I didn’t think it tasted even remotely close to a margarita, and moreover, the flavor is just downright bad. Vape-wise, the performance is good, but the flavor makes this one truly unvapable.

Overall. When I saw this bottle in my queue, I really started to get a taste for a nice light and acidic vape. Unfortunately, this one completely missed the mark, and I really don’t have anything else similar on deck, so I guess I’m going to have to move on to a different flavor profile. It’s a great idea for a vape juice, but this one just isn’t close.

Not Recommended.
