Azure Vaping: Almond Macaroon Review

Today I’ve got a blast from my past. This was one of the first juices I ever ordered when I started out vaping. At the time it was a favorite of mine, and I decided to pick up another bottle now, almost 2 years later, to give it a proper review. This one is called Almond Macaroon. Here’s what they say about it:

A delicious almond flavored cookie.

I’ve got it at 16 mg in an 80% PG blend.

First Impressions

This juice has a light pink tone to it and smells of almond extract in the bottle.

This one is interesting to me – it has a nearly perfect almond scent in the bottle, however there isn’t a lot of almond flavor. It’s a rather dry vape to begin with, and the inhale is loaded with a strong, almost alcohol like artificial flavor that really doesn’t taste much like anything. The exhale is much more smooth with light flavor that mostly tastes of coconut. Throat hit is excellent on this juice at 16mg.

The Bottom Line

Taste. It’s funny because this was one of the flavors I really liked when I first started vaping. Now that I have tasted so many juices, I have a lot more context in which to review it. Really, I didn’t find it particularly accurate or tasty. It is a very dry vape and has a strong artificial tone to it, particularly on the inhale. As I mentioned above, it’s a cross between an almost alcohol like flavor, and the Azure base, which a lot of their juices have some level of running through them. The exhale has a nice coconut ring to it, but it is quite light. The first few puffs I took with a new wick, the flavor wasn’t strong enough to break through the cotton flavor. After breaking in the wick, the flavor comes through pretty nicely, although still light, and still carries an artificial undertone.

True to Description. Oddly, as much as this smells of almond in the bottle, I really don’t get much actual almond flavor from it at all. The primary thing I taste is the coconut, and it comes through most clearly on the aftertaste, not actually during the vape, although it does have a presence on the exhale.

Throat Hit. The throat hit on this juice is excellent at 80% PG and surprisingly it still produces quite a bit of vapor.

Quality of Vape. I really don’t think the flavor is that good, or accurate. It is also on the dry side and has a strong artificial presence to it throughout the course of the entire vape. The performance on the other hand, is quite good – both throat hit and vapor are perfect on this juice. If the flavor tasted more clear, it would be a no-brainer, but the flavor is sub-average at best for me.

Overall. What a difference a couple of years make. As much as I really liked this juice when I first tried it, now that I have had the opportunity to taste hundreds of other juices, this one really doesn’t strike me as a very good quality juice. If you want to get a nice coconut fix on the cheap, then you could do worse, but really the flavor is just not that good on this one, so I would suggest other alternatives.

Not Recommended.
