It’s been at least a good month since my last juice review. I decided to take some time off this summer to enjoy some of the existing juices I really liked. As a juice reviewer trying to review 10 juices a week for the past year, I have gotten into the habit of only vaping any juice – even ones I really like – for a short time. As a result, I have a drawer full of excellent juices that have barely been touched. At any rate, I can’t hardly justify taking any more time off and it’s time to get back into the swing of things.
I recently received a sample box from Zodist – a monthly ejuice curation service, and based on the profile I submitted, The Weekend is one of the 4 juices I received to try.
Here’s what they say about it:
coconut milk with a hint of almond
This juice has a light brown, almost peach color to it and smells rich and warm in the bottle with hints of graham and almond. I’ve got it at 18mg in a house blend.
I was really keen on the smell of this one and out of the 4 bottles I received, this particular one smelled the best to me so it was the first one I tried.
I love the flavor. It’s fairly rich and seems to me like it has kind of a buttery component to it. I actually didn’t even realize this was a coconut flavor until I read the review. To me it tastes a lot like a really good graham cracker vape – which can sometimes have a coconut feel to it, so that’s what I assumed it was. However, I gave this to a friend to try who is a little sensitive to coconut and he immediately guessed it was a coconut vape, so I guess it just depends on the person.
The Bottom Line
Taste. What can I say? The taste is really outstanding. It packs a LOT of flavor and comes off as quite rich – that said, it is also very smooth and I have spent several days over the last week or so vaping this one all day long. I think the coconut presence is actually fairly mild all things considered. To me, I get a major graham cracker vibe from it. It may have something to do with the way the coconut melds with the nuttiness of the almond. Sometimes almond can have an almost acidic presence to it, and in this vape it comes off much more rich and nutty. The juice does smell slightly like almond extract in the bottle, however it doesn’t have that familiar almond extract taste. I really like the way it was presented and everything seemed very well balanced to me.
True to Description. I’m a huge coconut fan, and I wasn’t able to guess that the primary ingredient in this vape was coconut. That said, after reading the description I do totally get how this tastes like coconut milk. It’s interesting how much your paradigm can shift once you have a different context and this seems to happen frequently as I review juices. The almond flavor is also there, however it comes off very nutty and not sweet and acidic like a lot of almond flavors do, which I actually thought worked really well and was a nice change of pace.
Throat Hit. The throat hit on this vape is really pretty good at 18mg. I have been vaping a lot more lower nic juices lately and I am getting better hits off lower nic juices than I was previously as a result. It’s interesting because I have seen this juice selling on other 3rd party sites and they only offer it up to 12mg, but my bottle was marked 18mg.
Quality of Vape. This is really a very nice all around vape. The flavor is good and full and while it is quite rich, it is smooth enough that you can vape it all day long without it getting too heavy or wearing you down. The throat hit is great, and I thought the vapor production was superb as well. All around, this is a very high quality vape.
Overall. This is my first juice ever from The Juicery and I was really impressed. The flavors were very well balanced, and they gave me kind of a unique look at both coconut and almond that I have never tasted before. This is the kind of juice I could see easily becoming an all day vape due to the excellent performance and full, vibrant flavor. This is definitely a great one to try.
