Vapewell – Hive Review

This is my first ever review of a Vapewell juice. I received this juice as part of a Zodist box based on the profile I filled out. Here’s what they say about it:

Natural Coconut taste sweetened with the power of Honey. Perfect with a cup of coffee or a stiff drink.

First Impressions

This juice has a bright orange color to it and has a fairly pronounced honey scent in the bottle. I’ve got it at 18mg in a house blend.

I generally have not really liked a lot of honey vapes I’ve tried, and this one didn’t smell that great to me so it ended up being the last Zodist juice I sampled.

The flavor is pretty interesting. While it does smell strongly of honey in the bottle, the actual honey flavor didn’t come off particularly strong to me. While that is definitely a good thing for me since I haven’t had much luck with honey anyway, I also didn’t think this vape had very strong flavor in general. It came off as light, slightly sweet with kind of a warm flavor to it.

The throat hit is OK at 18mg, probably my least favorite of the Zodist lot, but still plenty strong.

The Bottom Line

Taste. The taste on this juice has been kind of hard for me to pin down. The inhale is warm, smooth and has a slight graham taste to it – which could also be interpreted as a mild coconut. The exhale has a slight burst of real, true honey flavor, but it quickly dissipates and the finish is a little on the boring side. Overall, it’s actually a fairly good tasting vape, but I found the flavor to be quite light – particularly in comparison to the other 3 Zodist juices I sampled which all had very strong, full flavor.

True to Description. There is a point, right at the beginning of the exhale when I get a crystal clear, natural honey flavor. It is by far the best honey flavor I have ever vaped, and actually leaves me wishing they had kicked it up a notch or two to really make that flavor shine. The coconut comes through on the inhale but it is quite mild. This is actually probably a good thing for those of you who don’t care for coconut because the flavor is subtle enough, I think, that you can barely even tell it’s actually coconut.

Throat Hit. The throat hit is OK on this one. I would say it is right around what I would expect at a minimum from an 18mg juice. Nothing special but certainly not below average either.

Quality of Vape. The performance of this juice is quite good – both throat hit and vapor production are on point. The flavor is pretty accurate, all things considered, but it is also very light. If you’re looking for a more mellow vape, this one would be a perfect choice. The flavor is light enough that you can’t really pick out any individual notes unless you’re really trying. Sometimes that can be a good thing – we don’t always want to be vaping super flavor-heavy juices – or at least I don’t! In general I think this is a pretty nice quality vape, but not particularly outstanding.

Overall. Out of all the Zodist juices I tried, I liked this one the least – but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad juice. I just didn’t think there was anything super special about it. The best thing about this juice is that for a split second you can really get a crystal clear natural honey flavor that I have not had replicated anywhere else. I love actual honey and use it all the time, but my vaping experience with honey has been pretty disappointing. I think if they took the nice honey flavor from this juice and brought it out a little more, they could really have something special.
