Smokecignals: Sarlacc Crunch Review

Today we’ve got another one from Smokecignals. This one is called Sarlacc Crunch. Here’s what they say about it:

Just like the original, this flavor has nothing to do with Cake, gummy worms, or kiwi.

It features the base that made the Hungry Sarlacc flavor a Smokecignals instant hit with the likes of Phil Busardo and scores of vapers across the country, but we’ve added a twist that makes it taste almost like a breakfast cereal. It’s magically delicious.

First Impressions

This juice has an orange color to it and smells of funk in the bottle. I’ve got it at 24mg in a 65/35 blend.

Just like their other juice Hungry Sarlacc, this one reeks of funk the minute you open the bottle.  I didn’t even really want to try it, but I can’t review a juice without doing so. After trying Hungry Sarlacc, I had to let my Magma air out for about a week to get the stench out of it. This time I used a dripper without a deep drip well so I could clean out the stank easier.

This juice pretty much tastes like it smells. Nasty funk with slight fruity notes and kind of a cereal undertone to it. The funk made it basically unvapable for me.

The Bottom Line

Taste.  I pretty much thought the taste of this juice was awful. It has the dreaded funk which is a strong perfume/floral taste that overpowers the rest of the vape. I do get kind of a fruity cereal vibe in the undertone – almost like a Captain Crunch or something, however the funk is so strong that it makes it difficult to enjoy at all. This is one that I pretty much had to stop after the first drip. Just not good.

True to Description. I felt that this one is about as far off from a tobacco flavor as you can get. You’re not going to convince a cig smoker to start vaping with a juice like this – that’s for sure. It does have a slight cereal taste to it, so they did get that right, however in general I felt this one wasn’t even close, and I definitely wouldn’t classify it as a tobacco at all based on the taste.

Throat Hit. I actually pretty much quit 24mg juices in favor of 18, so this one had quite a bit of kick to it. Overall I’m very satisfied with the throat hit.

Quality of Vape. In general I felt this was a very poor quality vape. The flavor was just simply not good. It didn’t taste like a tobacco, and I found it to basically be unvapable. From a performance standpoint, it was fine – in fact I quite liked the throat hit, however the flavor was so bad that I don’t see any way I would be able to vape more than a couple drips of it without becoming disgusted.

Overall. As much as I am a big fan of Smokecignals, I just don’t understand how anyone can enjoy flavors like this. The strength of the perfume notes are absolutely overpowering and enough to make your stomach turn. Maybe I just have a sensitivity to it, but as far as I’m concerned I can’t make sense of how anyone would be able to enjoy this at all.

Not Recommended.
