Smokecignals: Trailhand Tobacco Review

After a long summer of vaping many fruity and decadent vapes, I was quite looking forward to getting back into the swing of things with a nice, rustic tobacco. Today I’ve got Trailhand Tobacco from Smokecignals. If you read between the lines, they are basically putting this out there as a Marlboro style flavor. Here’s what they say about it:

The MANS Trailhand Tobacco flavor is the cowboy-killer killer.

First Impressions

This juice is orange in color and smells sour and grassy in the bottle. I’ve got it at 18mg in a 65/35 blend.

If you’ve tried a lot of tobacco vapes already, chances are this one will be fairly familiar to you. I always think of HHV’s Huntsman when I vape a tobacco like this. Overall it has a nice tobacco flavor, great throat hit and a solid amount of vapor production.

The Bottom Line

Taste. I have to say that personally I don’t like the taste of this juice, however I believe the reason is because I got really burned out on Huntsman about a year ago and I’ve never felt the same way about this type of tobacco flavor again. That said, just because I don’t like it doesn’t mean everyone won’t. In fact, I think it is a well done flavor in general.  Basically, this is a light-bodied tobacco, and I find that it has a strong grassy tone to it – it has kind of a high-pitched sourness coursing through it that you will either love or you’ll hate. When I first tried this flavor almost a year and a half ago, I thought it was amazing, however I ended up becoming burned out on it and haven’t had any desire to vape it since.  If you like flavors like Huntsman, then you will probably love this one as it is fairly similar and a good value for the money.

True to Description. The major nit I have here is that it really doesn’t much remind me of a Marlboro at all. The tobacco aspect is there, but it is more of a specialty tobacco kind of flavor rather than a mainstream American tobacco flavor in my opinion. I would say as a tobacco, it’s right on par, but specifically as a Marlboro flavor, it’s really not close.

Throat Hit. At 18mg this hits just as good as any of their 24mg juices I’ve vaped recently. I would have no problems getting this one again at 18.

Quality of Vape. Overall I think this is a good vape. It has a true tobacco flavor to it, and the flavor stays well-balanced throughout the duration of the vape. There are also no unwanted or out-of-place flavors creeping into the background, so in general it is good tasting, and clean. The performance is spot on.

Overall. Basically this is one of those flavors that I feel have a strong appeal with certain people, and other people will be really turned off by it – exactly why I don’t think it’s a very accurate representation of a Marlboro flavor. I personally don’t like it, but I also know there are a lot of people out there who love his style of tobacco vape, and I think Smokecignals did a good job with this one. It’s worth a try for sure, but don’t get your expectations up that it will taste anything like a cowboy killer.
